COURSE DESCRIPTION
Lesson Purpose:
The purpose of the lesson is to utilize trig ratio of Sine, Cosine and Tangent to calculate the trig ratio of each function.
Lesson Objective:
Students will be able to:
-Recognize that a right triangle has a 90-degree angle.
-Utilize the missing angle to identify/label the hypotenuse, opposite leg, and adjacent legs in the right triangle.
-Identify which trig function (sin, cosine, tangent) to use based on the information provided.
21st century life skills emphasized:
Communication, collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, information literacy
Simply MeToDo Strategies:
Clearly define content objectives each day, note taking, graphic organizers, vocabulary
Link to Prior Learning from a prior lesson in the series:
Students will begin lesson by using the Pythagorean theorem to identify the parts of a right triangle and calculate the missing side lengths.
Essential Question(s):
What is the trig ratio of Sine? Cosine? Tangent?
How do you use the missing angle to identify which trig function to use?
